Avery 5160 vs. 5163: What’s the Difference?

Compare 30-up address labels with 10-up 2 × 4-inch shipping labels.

Compare 30-up address labels with 10-up 2 × 4-inch shipping labels.

Avery 5160: compact mailing labels

5160-style sheets typically use 30 labels on US Letter paper: three columns by ten rows. Each label measures 2⅝ × 1 inch. They work well for return addresses, mailing addresses and smaller organizational tasks.

Avery 5163: larger shipping and product labels

5163-style sheets have ten rectangular 4 × 2-inch labels arranged two across and five down. This offers considerably more room for names, product descriptions and graphics.

Use the right grid

A 5160 layout and a 5163 layout are not interchangeable. Open the appropriate template before printing, and compare the exact geometry to your label stock.

Print at Actual Size / 100%, without scaling. Confirm placement on plain paper before printing adhesive sheets.

These names refer to common sheet geometries, not a guarantee that all compatible products have identical margins. Check the specifications for your purchased sheets.

Which template should you use?

Choose the compact 30-up sheet when you need multiple small addresses. Choose 2 × 4 when you need larger typography, logos, or extra text. If the package lists a manufacturer number, verify both the stock dimensions and its layout before printing.

Print the matching template on ordinary US Letter paper at 100% (Actual Size), then hold it behind the blank label sheet. Check the first and last label positions. If one sheet is A4 or an incompatible die-cut pattern, choose another template rather than using Fit to Page.
